Who we are

We believe women, trans, non-binary and Two Spirit people deserve equal voice and opportunity to provide healthy, environmentally and financially sustainable lives for themselves and their families in a vibrant and supportive community. 

WIN is organized as a community service cooperative which is a non-profit form of a cooperative. Our purpose is to benefit the community through the provision of programs and services that support women, trans, non-binary and Two Spirit people, and their families.

The Core of What We Do

Our programs provide women, trans, non-binary and Two Spirit people with practical and empowering support along their own unique journey between crisis, financial self-sufficiency and wellness. Designed to be free of judgment, simple to access, and informed by the wisdom of program participants themselves, we are there along each step of that journey.

WIN recognizes the fluidity of gender and as such our programs are open to self-identifying women, trans, non-binary and Two-Spirit people who identify with the intention of WIN’s programs.

How WE WORK:

Thanks to our amazing community, we are able to collect donated goods and provide affordable high quality clothing, household items and furniture through our Resale Shops in Greater Victoria, BC, as well as our online shop.

The revenue from our shops, along  with financial donations, covers the cost of running our non-profit cooperative, and funds our empowerment programs. 

Through our donation centre and stores, we divert over 800,000 lbs of goods from the landfill through re-use, re-purposing and re-cycling.

So whether you are a shopper, a donor, or a volunteer, you too have a hand in transforming our community.

WIN Cooperative

We are governed by a board of directors, and our membership is open to both the employees and volunteers of WIN. The benefit of participating as a member is the opportunity to shape the future of the organization, as well as to learn governance skills. Members do not receive any financial benefit from their participation as members, and volunteer their time for all membership related activities.
